Pauls Valley Safe School

The State of Oklahoma charges each of its public schools with forming a committee to examine and ascertain the quality of its respective school’s security measures and healthy living promotion and policies.  In accordance with this state law, the PVHS Safe and Healthy Schools committee meets annually to do just that.   Pauls Valley High School does its very best to ensure that our committee involves a variety of community representatives:  school administration, teachers, parents, students, law enforcement and medical personnel.  We value our members’ input, and every year, the collaboration of the committee members works fruitfully toward making Pauls Valley High School a safer learning environment for healthier students!

The committee met and discussed ways to improve camera security and intercommunication between school and law enforcement personnel.  Also, we looked at the issue of bullying, both in school and over the internet, or “cyber-bullying.”  Another concern addressed by the committee members was the growing problem of teen texting-and-driving.  We are hoping to put together programs in the spring that will address these issues.

It has always been the practice that PVHS conducts fire and tornado drills.  Throughout the past decade, however, the high school has also developed and practiced safety measures to be taken should there be an intruder or dangerous individual on campus.  It is our foremost concern that our students feel and are safe at school.
